AMERICA’S 250TH ANNIVERSARY ALSO MARKED THE RETURN OF SOMEONE ACCESS HARRISBURG HASN’T SEEN IN AWHILE: Bold Ideas Josh Shapiro.

Shapiro unveiled some fascinating thoughts last weekend on cable television about the structure of American governance — how he’d shape our country if given the chance. In a few words, he thinks it needs change.

“We need radical reform that's actually going to ensure that the voices of the people are heard from, that the voices of the people are represented in the three branches of government,” he said on Morning Joe last Thursday. “We don't have that right now.”

In a way, it’s a return to form for Shapiro. In 2022, he campaigned on picking and winning “big fights” throughout his time in public office.

“In Harrisburg, as a state [representative], I led the way on reform,” Shapiro told me in 2022. “As the first Democratic county commission chairman since the Civil War in Montgomery County, I led the fiscal turnaround. And as [attorney general] I’ve taken on powerful interests and delivered [for] Pennsylvanians.”
