Write-in Campaign

THE OUTCOME OF PENNSYLVANIA’S GUBERNATORIAL RACE FEELS LIKE A FOREGONE CONCLUSION. Polls indicate Gov. Josh Shapiro will likely cruise to reelection; the only question is how much he’ll win by.

That isn’t stopping some motivated fans of state Sen. Katie Muth from urging voters to write her in.

Muth was first elected during the 2018 blue wave to represent a historically Republican suburban Philadelphia district and has since become a prominent maverick. She’s voted no on bipartisan budget deals, pushed for transparency from the state teachers’ pension fund and the legislature, and got into a memorable shouting match over the repeal of a state cash assistance program.

To her critics, Muth is a firebrand who can’t get out of her own way to accomplish anything.

But to her supporters, she’s a lone, loud voice in the wilderness willing to pick any fight worth picking. This group includes constituent Cindy Ramsey, a retired acupuncturist and data center opponent, who thinks Muth should be governor.
